On 17 January 2025, the findings of the joint FAI into the deaths in custody of Katie Allan and William Lindsay (also known as Brown) were published. It concluded that their deaths could have been avoided but for a “catalogue of failures” in the system. There are reports that families of both Katie and William are preparing to take civil action against SPS.
